AFP FAQ participates Microsoft community program CLIP. This decission is based on the good concept introduction, the basic ideas of what a community is and represents and as well on the offered opportunities by Microsoft. In consequence we are trying to extend our content to fullfil the needs and wishes of a community.

As a first step in this process we are offering a new service since last friday: RSS News feed
RSS feeds are a known, etablished standard on offering news and articles for usage with external applications for years. Due to this concept we are now able to provide our articles on other information channels than a web browser:

  • Other web sites - easier integration of AFP FAQ articles
  • Desktop applications - Miranda IM is extendable with a RSS plugin
  • RSS Feed portals and gateways

Currently the new RSS feed offers only news articles but we are going to provide another RSS feed which links to all technical articles of several sections later this year.

Additional to RSS feeds we'll offer the same information as Web Services during the next weeks. Our current problem is the decission on which protocol to use - SOAP or XML-RPC - and how to get a working integration with Apache Web server.

Enjoy the AFP FAQ, JoKi
